We aim to teach all West Virginians about the Holocaust, its impact on our community, and how we can prevent it from ever happening again.
We strive to partner with local museums, programs, speakers, & members of our community to create avenues for education and awareness.
We endeavor to provide support and a place of community for those both interested in and affected by the Holocaust with our dedicated staff.
In 1996, a group of individuals -- a survivor, parents, clergy, and WVU faculty members -- established a commission to help bring Holocaust Education and awareness to West Virginia.
On March 4th, 1998, at a Governor’s Mansion Forum, Governor Cecil Underwood created the West Virginia Commission on Holocaust Education.
